Teaching Opportunities: Part-Time/Paid
The Arts in Wellness Program at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY is
seeking creative, talented, empathic, professional and experienced
workshop instructors to give Hudson Valley residents who have ever
received a diagnosis of breast cancer an introduction to the powerful
self-healing and restorative benefits of engaging in artistic creativity.
Planned workshops: visual arts, music, dance, writing, photography,
poetry, drama, puppetry, storytelling and more.

I LOVE NY SHORT FILM CONTEST

CONTEST OVERVIEW
On Sunday, June 1, the "I Love NY" Short Film Competition
was officially launched on the competition's website:
www.metacafe.com/iloveny.
This competition invites filmmakers (ages 14 and up) to produce their take
on the iconic "I Love NY" campaign and depict what they love
about New York State in a 60 second short film. We are looking for
innovative and creative interpretations of "I Love NY". Films
should highlight the distinctive places, unique characters and hidden gems
that make New York State special to them.
Filmmakers are able to submit their short films through July 15, 2008 at
www.metacafe.com/iloveny.
A panel of celebrity judges, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tina Fey
and Doug Liman, will then review the entries and select the winners which
will be announced this fall.
The winning film will air on NBC during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade, on Independent Film Channel, www.nypost.com and JetBlue
Airways in-flight entertainment system. Plus, several NYS film festivals
will show the film.
Prizes will be awarded to the best overall film, best young filmmaker
(ages 14-18), best student filmmaker (NYS college/university student), and
best regional film (6 total). Prizes include Sony HD video equipment, a
scholarship to a professional film workshop, a mentorship with Doug
Liman, New York film festival getaways, and more.

RULES
The competition is open to any person 14 years old or above. Submissions
will be accepted between June 1 and July 15, 2008. All films must be shot
in a "New York Minute" (:60 seconds) and filmed in New York
State. All entries must be submitted via the competition website at

collection to be seen by over 100,000 annually. All media
