October Exhibit Prospectus


2014 Annual Juried Fine Art Exhibit
October 11 - 31
Reception & Awards ~ Saturday, October 11, 4-6pm

Eligibility: PAC invites adult artists throughout the region & beyond to submit TWO pieces of ORIGINAL fine art (includes photography) for consideration. Work must have been completed within the past three years and not previously exhibited with the Putnam Arts Council at any venue, nor been created in a class. Artists are responsible for any copyright infringement.

Specifications: 2-D work: all work submitted cannot exceed maximum measurement of 48” wide and must be ready to install, screw eyes & wire preferred. 3-D work: 36” x 36” x 72”h and must be manageable by one person.

AWARDS: Cash awards for Best in Show, Second and Third Place selected at the discretion of the juror and announced at the opening reception Saturday October 11, 4-6pm.

Juror: Frank Gimpaya has gained recognition as an artist “who paints with light” through his fine art photography. He currently teaches painting & drawing at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and he serves on the Board of En Foco, an organization which supports photographers of diverse cultures.

Hand Delivery of Artwork: to 521 Kennicut Hill Rd., Mahopac – Sunday 9/28 and Tuesday 9/30 noon – 3pm or by appointment. All work must be received by 3pm Tuesday 9/30.

Fees: $25.00 per artist (not artwork) for up to two submissions. PAC Members enjoy a discounted fee of $20.00; anyone may join (or renew) at drop off. PAC membership provides timely information on all our activities, classes, programs and more as well as discounts, and support for the arts for everyone.

Submission Forms: will be provided at time of drop off.

Identify your work: with a label including your name and the title, medium and price (or NFS) of the work.

Sales: The Putnam Arts Council will retain 35% on all sales.

Pick – up at completion of exhibit: Wednesday 11/5 - Friday 11/7 from 11am -3pm or by appointment. (Note: pls plan to leave work until Wednesday)
