Wine Tasting Benefit For The Arts

Held on Sunday, July 24 was a tour through Sonoma County, California with 12 wines, ready to delight your palate, hosted by The Putnam Arts Council. We tasted wines from boutique and small to medium sized wineries as well as a few very limited production wines - ALL were special in one way or another, as our Resident Wine Enthusiast, Peter Lesley, personally selected these offerings for our enjoyment and educational experience. Check back often for more events like these that support The Putnam Arts Council! Thanks to those who attended!

Valerie diLorenzo
in An Evening of Cabaret

In this special cabaret event, Valerie diLorenzo, a MAC nominated vocalist and actress, takes a wry and moving look at the intricate threads of life and love and the universal paths we all tread as we stumble along… in Putnam County.  Accompanied by renowned musical director Barry Levitt, Valerie’s repertoire for this engagement includes an eclectic array of material, from Cole Porter and Stephen Sondheim to Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Waits, Fleetwood Mac, and beyond.

Valerie’s voice and showmanship have been critically acclaimed for presenting interesting and exciting music matched by "a beautiful voice, the kind most musical theatre wanna bees aspire to... And an engaging demeanor most society hostesses would give their eye tooth for.” Cabaret Scenes says, “This is how to do cabaret!  While her voice is stupendous, it’s her heart and life embracing spirit that makes her shows so special.”

THE ART OF ARCHITECTURE II
Tour of Frank Lloyd Wright inspired house on Petra Island – The Putnam Arts Council offered a special Art of Architecture experience here in our own backyard – We appreciate the Massaros opening their incredible Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home on Petra Island in Lake Mahopac on Saturday August 20, to benefit the Putnam Arts Council. There was a personal tour by Mr. Massaro which included the recently completed cottage renovation, and of course a boat ride too.
